Special Guest

This year, we were honored to welcome alumnus Dr. Adnan Majid, Class of 1990, as our special guest. Dr. Majid is the Chief of the Interventional Pulmonology Section at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a Professor of Medicine and Surgery at Harvard Medical School. His clinical research focuses on improving care for patients with pulmonary, airway, and pleural diseases. He is currently involved in clinical trials on endobronchial lung volume reduction and diagnostic devices for lung cancer, in addition to mentoring clinical fellows in their research projects.

During his visit, Dr. Adnan Majid led an engaging discussion with our students, sharing his experiences and reflections on leadership, service, and the positive impact each person can create in their community.

This encounter provided a unique opportunity to inspire our students to continue cultivating the core values that define the National Honor Society: academic excellence, integrity, leadership, and commitment to service.

We are pleased to share with you photos from this wonderful event, along with Dr. Majid’s ceremony speech and the conversation with the members of the Honor Society.

In an interview for Colegio Bolívar, he shared that, on a professional level, the school provided him with discipline, scientific curiosity, and perseverance—the foundations for his career in clinical research. On a personal level, it instilled in him values, friendships, and inspiration to be a good person, all of which are essential in the field of medicine.
